It's not just wheat and dairy products that can cause bloating and stop us from losing weight. Vegetables in the cabbage family, including broccoli, sprouts and cauliflower can also trigger bloating as can sulphur rich foods like beans are not good for people wanting to lose weight
Tea and coffee are best avoided as well. Both drinks are diuretics (which trigger the elimination of water from the body) and they increase the risk of bloating. Coffee has also been linked to the production of gas in the stomach which is the number one cause of bloating.
Alcohol is another no go. The sugar present in most alcoholic drinks adds to the gut imbalance as it feeds the yeast in the stomach causing bloating and making it more difficult for use to lose weight.
Eating very quickly and drinking at the same time can also make bloating matters worse, as you are likely to swallow more air in the process. It is really important to slow down when you eat if you want to lose weight and reduce bloating because if you eat too quickly you won't break the proteins down. Undigested food matter can then re-enter the gut where it ferments causing a build up of gases and bloating. Chewing each mouthful thoroughly before swallowing can really help to enhance the whole digestive process aiding the process of losing weight
Dairy products are common triggers of bloating because like any mammal, humans are only designed to have milk as babies. As adults some people lack the enzyme needed to break down the sugars in milk which aggravates the system. If you want to lose weight or especially bloating try cutting out dairy it will make a big difference.
