Sugar alternatives for weight loss.

If your goal is weight loss, there are many things you can use to sweeten food other than using sugar. Honey, fruit, maple, and molasis are far better for you compared to sugar and are lower in calories causing weight loss in itself.

Fruit however is different because it is rich in nutrients and fibre, and it provides a slower sugar and insulin release than processed sugar, so it is good to add to your cereal on a weight loss diet.


If you start to crave something sweet, then eating a piece of fruit should satisfy this, although if you are looking to lose weight you shouldn’t eat more than two pieces of fruit in a day.


Cutting down on sugar for weight loss


If you are baking a cake or another form of desert, most will turn out fine if the sugar is halved, aiding weight loss. Reduce the amount of sugar you put on cereals, you will get used to the taste and it will help you lose weight and fat. Look out for ingredients on food labels that end in ‘ose’ like dextrose and sucralose, these are awful for weight loss diets.
