Sugar and weight loss

Eating sugary foods promotes high levels of the hormone insulin, which makes it very hard for us to lose weight. This is because insulin is used in body to store carbohydrates for energy and will store those carbs as fat. So, eat foods that prevent spikes in blood sugar and insulin levels such as oats, they provide long slow energy rather than a fast burst. This will help create an optimal environment for weight loss.

Simply put dieting for weight loss is all about keeping your blood sugar levels stable through foods that release energy slowly such as lean proteins and complex carbohydrates. Lean proteins are foods such as white meat without skin, fish and seafood, lean cuts of red meat, low fat tofu, low fat veggie meat substitutes, sugar free low fat soy. Complex carbohydrates include wholegrain bread, rice and oats, these are all great diet products for anyone wanting weight loss.
